1 November 2009

After putting so much time into the Halloween party, I was pleased that it went off well. Helen had made lots of decorations as well, and in the end we had enough to give the room a bit of a festive air.

Nick came along with Emily later, after her nap, so unfortunately we didn't get a chance to join in the 'wrap the mummy' game, but he sportingly agreed to take first turn at the apple-bobbing, along with Steve. Sadly he didn't win, but the 50 or so party-goers seemed to enjoy watching them get wet faces! I wished I had got Emily an outfit, as most of the other kids were dressed up in costumes (hardly any of them spooky, it has to be said). Tim looked cute as Superman, and Isy wore a lovely witch's frock and hat.
It seemed a lot of outlay for one occasion though. In the end, we turned a small 'profit' for the organisation's coffers, but at least we have now invested in all the gear for next year.
